Hospitality Mixer: "From Harm to Home – the Refugee journey:  A story of bravery and resilience"
Tuesday, February 18, 5:30 P.M.

What does it mean to be a refugee?  What is the difference between a refugee and an immigrant?  Why are people forced to flee their homes and embark on terrifying journeys, and what dangers do they face on their way?  Do we have refugees in Seattle and is there anything that I can do to help?  All those questions and more will be answered in Executive Director of the International Rescue Committee in Seattle, Nicky Smith’s talk: From Harm to Home – The Refugee Journey.  The talk will also highlight the uplifting stories of refugee families as they flee persecution, poverty and war and resettle and rebuild their lives in the Puget Sound.

Our Tuesday evening Hospitality Mixers offer you the chance to connect with fellow members and enjoy a short program. We encourage you to enjoy a few complimentary munchies, learn something new and catch up with friends. Hospitality Mixers include complimentary hors d’oeuvres, no-host cocktails, and a reduced parking rate of $8.
