With History of  the Supreme Court. For more than two centuries, the Supreme Court has exerted extraordinary influence over the way we Americans live our daily lives. The Court has defined the limits of our speech and actions since its first meeting in 1790, adding to our history books, names such as John Marshall, Louis Brandeis, Hugo Black and Earl Warren. Have you ever wondered what goes into the shaping of the Courts decisions? Or how nine justices blend divergent and often strongly conflicting philosophies the reflect consensus-or sometimes fail to? Join us for lively and thought-provoking conversation as we view and discuss the lectures from the Great Courses series History of the Supreme Court. All members and guests welcome. Reservations are required for each lecture. No need to attend all lectures. Lectures are complimentary.
