Mission Statement The Heritage Society exists to preserve the heritage, elegance and vitality of The Rainier Club for future generations. The Society does this by providing targeted monies, beyond those assessed and set aside for annual capital and maintenance purposes, to enhance and improve the physical facilities and heritage of the Club.
Goal The Society’s goal is to build and maintain special reserve funds (The Heritage Fund and The Rainier Club Historic Foundation) that will be used in two major ways: funds invested for future emergencies and funds used as leveraging monies needed to accomplish enhancement projects that have been approved through the regular governance processes of the Club.
Society Membership Club members become a member of the Heritage Society upon a gift or pledge of $1,000 or more to The Rainier Club. Contributions made over time are considered cumulative when making multiple gifts.
Fund and Foundation, A Quick Overview The Club receives and allocates a portion of each member’s gift to both the Fund and the Foundation.
The Heritage Fund, founded in 1996, receives the non-tax-deductible portion of your gift and distributes it for aesthetic and practical improvements for the Club and to the Clubhouse.
The Rainier Club Historic Foundation, approved by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) foundation in 2003, receives the tax-deductible portion of the gift. Money distributed by the Foundation is restricted in use for the architectural façade, supporting structures, electrical, mechanical, and vertical transportation systems.
Bequests and gifts made through a Foundation Advised Account can be made directly to The Rainier Club Historic Foundation.
